Water is a unique and incredibly
diverse resource. It is the only
substance on the planet that has the
ability to naturally exist as a solid, a
liquid, or a gas. Consequently, water has varying
properties depending on the state it is in.
|
As a liquid, water has the ability to absorb and be
absorbed by other compounds. If properly dispersed
in large quantities, water droplets can absorb
individual dust and odor particles and completely
remove them from the air in a process known as
adhesion. This allows water to be used as a truly
effective method of dust and odor control.
When water evaporates to a gas, changes to the
physical properties take place. The flash evaporation
of the liquid to a gas absorbs energy from the air in
the form of heat which results in significant reductions
in the ambient temperature. Because water has
the ability to absorb more heat for each degree of
temperature reduction then most other substances,
water evaporation can be an ideal method of outdoor
cooling.
When water is evaporated and the air exchange is
limited, the relative humidity will increase. By controlling
the amount of moisture and the air flow, any
relative humidity level can be artificially created an
precisely maintained.
Once the air becomes saturated and can no longer
absorb additional moisture, 100% humidity is
achieved and the water will stay in its liquid state.
Micron sized droplets of water will suspend themselves
in the air creating a natural fog effect. When
properly applied, this saturation point is used to create
unique and dramatic landscape special effects.
These unique properties of water can be very useful.
When water is atomized into tiny micron sized
droplets and effectively dispersed into the air, the
properties are magnified.
Fogco’s specialty designed systems utilize customized
